GOSPEL 411 WELCOMES
SPENSHA BAKER!!!

Ladee Storem: Good morning Spensha.
Spensha:
Good morning. It’s early.

Ladee Storem: Yes it’s early, {laughter} can you tell the readers how you got started with your career and who inspired you to sing?

Spensha:
When I was seven years old my mother bought me Stacy Rico’s {Contemporary Christian} album and I started singing in my room. My mother realized I could sing before I realized I could sing.
From there, she put me straight in church. At nine years old, I did my first public performance at a Christian Talent Search. From performing on Star Search, singing at NBA and NFL games at the age of twelve, it’s the way I live. The way I live inspires me to sing.

Ladee Storem: How is your career different now then it was when you first started?
Spensha:
When I first started I was singing and experimenting with the gift. Now I know the ends and outs of my voice, and I know my message is getting across to the young people and people in general.

Ladee Storem: When you minister in song to teenagers that are looking to change their lives around for the Lord what song do you sing that really touches their hearts to surrender all?
Spensha:
That’s one thing that’s unique about my album every song touches a young person’s heart. One of my favorites to sing is “Hold On”. The message to the song is, no matter what your circumstances are no matter what you’re going through, just “Hold On” God is on the way.

Ladee Storem: Let’s talk about your album, I listened to a few songs and I love your ministry. You have a little something for everyone and that’s good.  I love how you put your own twist to your single that dropped on April 14th called “Hallelujah”. What’s the story behind the single?
Spensha:
My album {OUT LOUD} has a sound for every ear. Pop, R&B beats etc. “Victory” is Traditional. I have Praise & Worship and there’s a song for everyone’s situation. Warryn Campbell who is responsible for the Mary Mary fame produced the song “Hallelujah”. It’s a Clark Sister’s remake. So as I’m singing it, I’m paying tribute to them.

Ladee Storem: Being the 1st Gospel artist on Geffen Records with artists such as Mary J. Blige, Keyshia Cole, Snoop Dog, and Fergie, that’s a big step in your career. How can the fans read more about you? Do you have a myspace page?
Spensha:
