She’s Not Your Typical Rodeo Groupie
story
by: Lloyd DeBerry |
|
2006 was one interesting year for
J'Lee, with "Cutting Horse Dance," being on Music Row chart.
Music Row reported J'Lee's Spin Power at 300 percent moving her up
65 spots. Cutting Horse Dance is also being reported to NMW and
TRRR.
J'Lee says she has done extremely well and is so ecstatic with
the support she has received from COUNTRY radio with her single
"Cutting Horse Dance". "I am grateful and couldn't ever thank them enough for
giving me a chance to be heard."
|
MOVIE:
After writing the Cutting Horse Dance, J'Lee presented it to the
producer of "Expect A Miracle". It's a movie about cutting
horses and the fight to survive cancer. She thought maybe the song
could be used as a closer but instead the Cutting Horse Dance is the
opening song for the movie. J'Lee is also a principal character in
the movie starring as a striving artist without family support.

MAGAZINE ARTICLES:
J'Lee was interviewed by Quarter
Horse News magazine and was featured
in their December issue. She was
also spoken to by Cutting Horse
Chatter magazine based out of Texas
and will be featured in this
publication as well.
APPEARANCE'S
In December J'Lee was in Texas
where she opened for Celebrity
Cutting 2006 with her latest single.
As she stood just above the cattle
in the Will Roger Memorial Center
she sang the perfect song for the
occasion "Cutting Horse Dance". After
her performance she was interviewed
and several fans approach her for an
autograph. The comments continued to
come through out the Celebrity
Cutting event on "Cutting Horse
Dance".
SONG REQUEST:
When Cutting Horse Dance was first
released to country radio, one
station told us people was calling
in requesting it and although they
couldn't remember the artist or the
correct song title they would say "play that dance song".
The program director said but we
knew what song they were talking
about. " J'Lee and "Cutting Horse Dance".
THE SONG:
According to the public the Cutting
Horse Dance is a feel good make you
wanna dance song. One radio host was
caught in action while listening to
"Cutting Horse Dance" and when ask
what was she doing the host replied
"I think I'm doing the "CUTTING
HORSE DANCE". So tell us radio
personality have you gotten your
dance on yet?
THE ARTIST:
J'Lee, is originally from Florida
but transferred to Nashville, to
learn more about music. She
considers herself to be a simple
person who believes that one of the
greatest sights you will see is a
SMILE on someone's face. And the
greatest sound you will hear is
LAUGHTER. She says "for that moment
of amusement I pray one has
forgotten their troubles".
J'LEE:
Please allow me to speak with
you for a moment. Yes I am simple
but honest. I try to treat you the
way I want you to treat me. And as
hard as I try to do the right thing
I still screw up sometimes. (oh
that's what I get for being human)
but I hope you will look beyond my
faults and love me anyway.
All my life I have had a love for
horses and music or is it music and
horses? I don't even know I just
know I have loved them both before
school age. Right now I am putting
forth all strength and effort into
my music. All I seem to write about
lately is horses, cows, bulls,
cowboys and cowgirls. I am doing
extremely well and so ECSTATIC with
the response I have received from
COUNTRY radio with my current single
"Cutting Horse Dance". I don't know
where this will take me I just have
to wait and see. Well, I guess it's
like I've always said "do the very
best you can and put the rest in
God's hand."
