Ghetto Eyes

Seeing no way out
Seeing things people hear about
Seeing no father figure most living in a single parent dwelling
Seeing empty refrigerators, violence and drug selling
Seeing crowded classrooms, lacking the resources of their peers
Some cry out in rap music to address their problems, but only to deaf ears
There are people in the ghetto who live righteous lives, go to work and church and don't commit crimes
Their ends are not meeting or in some way fell on hard times
I don't commend neither condemn who do what they have to do to eat or survive
I never had to put on a size three shoe when I wore size five
All of America is not baseball, hot dogs and apple pies
I never lived in the ghetto but I see clearly through Ghetto Eyes
