Of course, the car and tooth
analogy are very simplified
examples of inconveniences to
our wallets. What happens when
the stakes are higher?? Money??
Property?? Personal Freedom??
See what I mean???
In a legal situation,
we tend to go to an attorney when you are in a situation
that you wish you were not in or you would like to
correct as soon as possible. By the time you’ve
approached an attorney, you’ve already evaluated your
situation thoroughly at the time. You pretty much know
what you’re looking at but you’re hoping and sometimes
praying… that when you go and speak with an attorney,
that attorney is going to tell you something
significantly different (and hopefully favorable) from
what you think.
Just remember, as an
attorney, we have an ethical responsibility to tell you
all sides of your case so that you can make a decision
about what is best for your well being. The toughest
part of our job is telling you perhaps, a part of your
situation that you don’t want to hear. Attorneys don’t
glorify in it because in a lot of instances, the WORST
CASE SCENARIO may be the situation they are fighting to
keep you away from.
Always remember these
key facts. In every situation or difficulty you face,
there will be consequences. Some consequences may be
significant and some may not be as significant. Always
keep in mind and be aware that there is always a WORST
CASE SCENARIO and you should always be mindful of that
scenario. Don’t lull yourself into thinking that the
worst case scenario won’t happen because you never know,
it just might!!!
