Greetings!
My name is Nicolle M. Whalen, a determined, focused and passionate 29 yr old producer, writer and director. I graduated from Tennessee State University in 2002 with a BA in Mass Communication. Now I'm CEO and Founder of NHizWill (pronounced In His Will) Productions; the place where creative music videos, positive films, original stories for television come to life. I hope you've had the opportunity to view my first short film, The Secret Closet. I hope you enjoy it!

My motivation for writing The Secret Closet came from my ignorance on such an important topic. The Bible states that "people perish for the LACK of knowledge". Yes, I heard about HIV/AIDS but I'd never seen it anywhere but on television. Years ago, a close friend brought a creative twist to the reality of this topic; verses the vague descriptions portrayed in the media. She introduced me to people who were living with the disease and hearing their testimonies blew my mind. At that time I knew several people who were having unprotected sex, including myself. I thank God for Gingers voice and now I want to pass on the information and knowledge I've learned from her. So, I thought, "why not produce a story that millions can relate to!"

I am in development stages for the full version of the film. The first step is finding an Executive Producer who can help finance the film budget. I've been in contact with agents and distributors in LA to get the support of A-LIST actors and film houses; however I still need your help! The Secret Closet isn't your typical Hollywood film. It causes you to think and change your mindset about life. Let's be honest, they normally don't GREENLIGHT those types of films easily. It's been a fight and I ask that you will fight along with me. I can testify that one voice can save, at least one life. Our sisters and brothers young and seasoned need to realize the importance of knowing the status of their health, so they can be treated properly. Having unprotected sex is like playing Russian roulette with your life.

BIOGRAPHY

Nicolle Whalen is well on her way to becoming a multimedia force to be reckoned with. It only makes sense; this 29 year old St. Louis native is one of the youngest and brightest in her field. She recognizes that God brought her to Nashville to help fulfill His divine purpose for her life.

It started in 1999 when she enrolled in Tennessee State University as a sophomore. During her last semester, after much persistence, Nicolle landed her first internship at D&C Multimedia (formally known as D&C Productions www.dandcmultimedia.com.
After receiving her BA in Mass Communications in May 2002, Nicolle became a full time Production/Office Assistant at D&C. After three years, she worked her way up to Video Production Manger.

In her capacity as Video Production Manager, Nicolle did a lot of video editing and producing. She also flourished in directing and was responsible for managing all LIVE PRODUCTIONS including concerts, ministry productions, and any video projects the company produced.

Recently branching off into the film world, Nicolle had the opportunity to venture to Key West, Florida to shoot a documentary called "The Journey" (www.filmclash.com). She was also a top finalist in the 2006 Short Script Competition for her first short on HIV/AIDS (www.umff.com/mainpages/scripts.htm). "My ultimate goal is to bring my screenplays to life. As I produce more and more projects my creativity is expanding and leading me closer to opportunities that will enable me to fulfill my dream of becoming a film director." Nicolle has recently begun pre-production on her first feature length film entitled, "The Perfect Dunk, (www.nhizwill.com) written by long time friend Melondi Brown." I'm excited about this project because this will finally give me the opportunity to serve as Producer and Director. Normally, I'm either one of the two on smaller in-house projects". Nicolle has been fortunate enough to study film making with Johnny Simmons, ASC (www.johnsimmonsdp.com) one of the top African American Directors of Photography in the country. Mr. Simmons is also a member of the prestigious American Society of Cinematography. "Due to the training and knowledge I gained from Johnny, I've worked on other short film projects."

For 3 years Nicolle worked at Exodus Productions Inc. (www.exodusproductionsinc.com) as Associate Producer. Her responsibilities included hand-held camera and jib operation, training and coordinating freelancers for live productions, and video editing/producing.

Currently, Nicolle is focusing on being CEO, Writer and Producer of her own company, NHizWill Productions (www.nhizwill.com). The place where creative music videos, positive films, original stories and TV shows come to life. In July 2007 Nicolle shot, produced, directed and edited her 1st short film "The Secret Closet". Due to the success of the SHORT version of this film, Nicolle will release the feature for the film, next year.

Nicolle Whalen has proven, and continues to prove herself to be an expert in her field. Willing to learn, listen and work; she is the ultimate team player, passionate about CHRIST, and intent on having that passion reflect in all that she does.
